AUGUST 2015 : EASTERN EUROPE : European Peace Walk : Day 11 : Orimagyarosd, Hungary - Sventgyorgyvolgy, Hungary (23 kms - 6 hours)

Distance travelled : 245 kms

Flat walk today on minor roads through forests. Evidence of logging industry and a sawmills get.

                                           Up at 5.30 am.

                                                 Our rooms.

Breakfast left for us in the kitchen.

Leaving the Sunshine Camp. Cool morning.

Through villages. All quiet, save barking dogs.

                                                         Across mown fields.

Refilling our bottles with artisan water from blue pumps, in every town and village.

           Muddy sections through the forests.

           Rest stop.

Stork nest, church, another quiet village - but no shop or bar.

             Lunch stop by a lake.

Refreshed we pushed on for the last 10 kilometres.

A surprise when we headed up the hill. An artist's home in the shape of an owl.

           Sad hamlets with abandoned houses.

Our accommodation tonight. A beautifully presented camp, with sports fields and pool.

           Cabins.

           Attractive grounds by the restaurant.

   Delicious meal together.
We blotted our copybook when Thelma, Ros and I put our feet in the pool and the manager found us and asked us to have a full shower before entering the area. Everywhere had TILOS! written everywhere, so we think we broke quite a few other rules as well.

Love the Hansel & Gretel houses. So good that the heatwave finally came to an end. From the photos you seem to have some extra walking companions, hope they are good company. Mark is looking like father Christmas already! We are back at work after our trip. Thank goodness it has warmed up in Sydney so it feels like spring. Frieshas abound.....JulieJ
