An easy day today. We have split a long day into two. We walked from Nerola to Montelibretti.
Early morning views from our balcony
A delicious Castello Orsini breakfast at 8 (included)
Sumptuous cheeses and freshly baked bread
Gorgonzola for breakfast, can you believe it!
Sweet plates
Sculptured oleander bushes down Nerola’s main street
Back on the Via di Francesco route, looking south towards Rome
Only an hour and we were at Acquaviva retracing some of our steps from yesterday’s adventure - looking back at Castello Orsini perched high above Nerola.
A fruit stop in Acquaviva
Then 7 kms along quiet farmland tracks to Montelibretti
Trimming fruit trees
First views of Montelibretti
Climbing to the top our first vision was a bar called Marcos.
A very enthusiastic welcome from Marco, who hopes to open a B&B next year.
Montelibretti is a sizeable town - just one long street along a ridge line.
Tiny cars to navigate the narrow streets and alleyways
Then an hour of angst..our booking.com accommodation had fallen through. With little understanding, on both sides, via mobile, we discovered our booking had not registered with the owner, although we had proof with our booking.com confirmation.
Fortunately around the corner there was a B&B with a room available.
Lounge room and kitchen facilities (and breakfast) €50
And then off for a late lunch...
And dinner tonight at the pizzeria next door

Eek a shock to find your carefully planned accom not there. All worked out in the end .xx
Not as stressful as our bus and cross-country experience the day before!
Until the last 2 days all was smooth sailing. Hopefully for you things don't come in threes.....JulieJ
