SEPTEMBER 2018 : CROATIA : PRVIC LUKA : DAY 2 : Swimtrek

Breakfast

Meeting on the pier for a 9am start

Motoring off to more remote islands

Our first challenge was a 1.5km channel crossing from the large island (Bavlenac) on the right to the island in the foreground, Kaprije.

We set off in our colour groups on a glorious morning and crystal clear sea

We swam to the little port and then walked for 20 mins to a larger port on the other side of the island.

Hot and dry, so instead of investigating the village any further we all opted for iced coffees, laden with ice cream and cream.

Some flourishing fruit trees in the well-established gardens

A unusual variety of olive

The Swimtrek team with our accomplished channel swim in the background.

Tele, our amazing swimming guide, gave us some drills to practice.

Our afternoon swim was along the coast of another island - 1.25kms.
Anna attaches a float to a belt so she can rest or be supported along the way if needs be.

Team Yellow ready for another swim on a hot afternoon. We swam along the coast of Zmajan.o

Back at Prvic

The island church, with its regularly chiming bell.
Next to the church is a modern museum which celebrates the island’s history.
The hanging figure is a tribute to a famous Croatian inventor, who was responsible for the early development of the parachute.

Tonight our wonderful guides organised a tapas menu of Croatian delicacies at a local balcony restaurant.
