Neno’s Apartments around a small courtyard
Breakfast at a cafe in the Palace
Bus station, full of tourists, where we caught the airport shuttle
Quick check-in in a makeshift entry tent, while renovations are taking place in Split. Then it started to rain, pouring down with significant winds.
Suddenly flights were delayed, some cancelled and some passengers suffering significant delays were invited to the international lounge for refreshments. Meanwhile, there was not one seat spare and as well as agitated adults, crying children there were a few restless dogs, disappointed about their flight delay.
Our small flight (size of aircraft and flight time) was only delayed for an hour.
We then caught a €7 bus into Termini, the main Rome railway station, and then walked to our hotel, New Moon Guesthouse, in Corso d’Italia.
Actually it is a very small hotel secreted in an apartment building. Very adequate and close to many restaurants.
Trattoria Disco Volante was recommended. Old-style with delicious meals.
I had ravioli with a Gorgonzola and walnut sauce and Mark had tender veal with a lemon sauce.
And a very filling dessert.
Tomorrow we head to Florence to start our 550km walk - Via di Francesco.
