SEPTEMBER 2018 : CROATIA : PRVIC LUKA : DAY 3 : Swimtrek

Another unusually warm Autumn day off the Dalmatian Coast. 30o and clear, clear, clear!

"

9am start

We travelled further west to a more remote area.

Another channel crossing from Hisnjak Veli to Ravna Sika to Ravan

We set off on the 1.5km journey with our colour groups

First leg completed

Then along the coast of another island to an area, locally known as the Bahamas as there is a sandy bottom and greener section on the shore.

The water quality and temperature were exceptional.

Still many sea anemones to be wary of. Apparently they are vital in cleaning up the sea floor...certainly doing a very effective job!

Back on board

And to a small cove off the island of Kaprije. It was on the other side of the island from which we explored yesterday.

There was an opportunity to go ashore and walk up the rocky paths or have a drink at these establishments.
Felt like a pirate’s cove to me..with a deep dark past.

Some preferred to sleep after lunch

Others to luxuriate in the water, laden with little silvery fish

At 2.30 we swam from the boat around the point and along the island for another 1.5 swim.
A very popular swim as we had lots to interest us on the sea floor as we swam along.

Then home. A little shrine on the remote southwest point of Prvic Luka.

Our beautiful port

Swimtrek and the Hotel Maestral organise a masseuse from Sibenik to give massages during the week.
Clodagh and I availed ourselves of the wonderful service. This is Carmen, the miracle worker.
I actually wanted this photo because of her shoes...high-heeled polka dotted sneakers!

Back to the hotel for a little social hour at sunset. Our trusty bar man, receptionist etc, Bobon. He is from Serbia and does the summer season in Croatia.

Tonight our guides organised, for those that so wished, a Croatian barbecue meal. Meats or fish are slowed cooked with vegetables in an open oven.
We had the choice of chicken, lamb or octopus.

I had the octopus. Beautifully tender.

This was a restaurant tucked away at the end of alleyways of this little town but by the water.

We are all amazed that we are keeping up with the pace. We are all physically tired but buoyed up daily by the marvellous and magical conditions.
