A chilly misty morning so it was lovely for us to have a later start when the sun broke through at 10.30.
There was still plenty to enjoy in the old town today. We particularly enjoyed the Roman relics.
There are a few very traditional pastelerias, run by generations of families.
Activity beginning in the main plazas around 10.30am.
First stop tourist information with its own small exhibition of the history of the walls, details about buses for Mark and recommendations of best attractions.
Nearby, down a small street, Rua Doutor Castro, we walked through a red door and found ourselves in the ruins of a 3-4th century Roman house.
There was an excellent audio-visual doculmentary on the development of the site, particularly through Roman times.
Next we visited the Museo Provincial, set in a 15th century Franciscan Monastery. It had some social history sections, housing and domestic artefacts, as well as pre-history items to modern day artwork.
A Galician woodwork store.
