AUGUST 2015 : EASTERN EUROPE : European Peace Walk : Day 4 : Albertkazmerputza, Hungary - Puztasohoria, Hungary (15 kms - 4 hours)

Distance travelled so far : 63 kms

Breakfast at 5.30am. A bit hard to face at this time of the morning. Missing my
                  NutriBullet.

Sunrise as we set off into the fields.

Wind turbines are on the Austrian side of the fields. We have been skirting in and out of Hungary and Austria.

Acres and acres of dried sunflowers.

Delicious grapes - red and white - ready for harvest.

Ripe and ready tomatoes in hot houses

First view of the small town of Janossomorja (Hungary)

One house stood out from the rest.

We arrived at 9.45am but rooms were not available until 2 pm.

I went to the local supermarket for supplies but Ros had other ideas.

We decided to take the bus to town. 40 degree heat. Dousing stations everywhere.

We mastered getting correct money for the bus.

Not many shops or restaurants but we did find a pub with substantial meals.

Another dousing before returning to the restaurant/ pension.

Returned only to discover that there were no beds for us. We could not find any alternative
accommodation in the small town so we were able to contact the hostess for tomorrow
night, who came and collected us, so we will have a rest day tomorrow.

Lizzie, the hostess with the mostest and her father.

We are spending the night here with the EPW walkers who began on Saturday. A group
with Irish, Australians, English and a Czech girl. We are in wonderful accommodation in
Nyarliget, another small Hungarian town, run by Lizzie, a 30 + girl, who has established this
guesthouse, and is a very helpful and resourceful hostess.

Two tired but happy travellers, pleased with the resolution of today's issues.
The EPW organisers also tried to assist but we had already decided on our plan.
