Weather : cloud cover all day : low to mid - 20s : rain at night
A long day's walk on softer, flatter track - with the compulsory steep ascents at each end of the track.
Today's walk - west to east - right to left |
The guidebooks had warned us that it was a dry stretch without any facilities (fountains, shops, cafes) along the way so we were well-prepared. We've been using 2 books mainly - the essential guide for the GR65 is Miam, Miam, Dodo ( translated means Yum, Yum, Sleep), which has detailed maps and contact numbers for accommodation along the route (from campsites to hotels). We have been booking up to 5 days ahead. The other is the Michelin "Chemins de Compostelle", which has an elevation map with profile of the day's climb, facilities available and a route map.
