Early morning in Santiago..from our window...

 

The impressive cathedral forecourt

 

Peregrinos continually arriving.

 

At midday every day there is a

pilgrims' mass to welcome and

acknowledge those who have arrived

 the day before.

 

It is a sung service, with the singing

led by a nun

 

If you are lucky, as some were

on the weekend, you will

experience the giant botafumeiro,

or incense burner, swung by a

group of priests.

 

 

Shopping in the old town...

and the new town nearby.

 

Sunset. A quiet evening meal with Miriam

and Jacquie before they leave tomorrow.

John, Maugie, Fr Brian and Robert continue walking to

Finisterre. Ralph, Mimi and Elo keep travelling

in Europe and many others are flying home.
