An early morning fire alarm surprised all the residents of our hostel. Five floors of sleepy travellers pouring out into the street in their pyjamas. A steam-filled shower the cause.
Across the road from the hostel is the main railway station and a direct line to the airport.
Our travel today worked like clockwork. All the Ryanair check-in was self-automated. The flight was two and a half hours and on time. From sunny skies to dense cloud as we arrived in Dublin. Passport check, baggage collection was quick and we were on the bus to Galway within a few minutes, also a two and a half hour journey.
A happy reunion with our Irish friends, John and Maugie, and an English friend, Miriam, who has come to spend a few days with us. Heavy rain tonight. We have a few days until we start walking, so hopefully the sun will shine!
