Son Xoriguer - Cala Galdana
14kms
Stages 12 & 13
Confusion about our 8am pick up today. We communicate through WhatsApp so we could contact our driver and he was here by 8.30am.
This company, Nuratravel, continues to be so supportive and efficient.
Son Xoriguer, a huge purpose built tourist town, is near the lighthouse, Es Far d’Artrutx. This was our setting off point today.
Flat terrain on rocky pavements and sand.
We could make early progress on this section as it was cooler as well.
Only a few plants brightening the path.

As we headed towards the popular beaches the crowds appeared on the trail.
We passed by Platje Bellavista and Cala en Turqueta, where we swam yesterday on our cruise.
One of the most popular beaches is Macarella.
A very welcome café and bar at Macarella. By this time Mark was feeling the heat and his knees were stressed after some rocky ascents and descents. A break and a limón drink was perfect timing.
Then a new walkway replaces the old rocky uneven path up the cliff.
First view of today’s destination, Cala Galdana.
We arrived at 2.30pm. Another large tourist enclave with multi-story hotels but excellent tourist facilities on the water.
Lazy afternoon. Gourmet pizzas at the port for dinner and Menorcan pistachio ice cream for dessert.

Well done looks like a lovely walk. Great that you could find some stable ground for Mark.
