We are all delighted with the campsite set-up. Bacon and eggs for breakfast.
The Bungle Bungles were only discovered in the 1980s as the Kimberley became more accessible and was made the Purnululu National Park in 2003.
The National Park covers an area of 239,723 hectares and the Bungle Bungle Range forms 45,000 hectares of it. The domed rocks were immediately entrancing.
Piccaninny Creek Lookout
Walking up to Cathedral Gorge
In the wet season the rushing water eddies down the gorge eroding huge circular shapes
Cathedral Gorge - a sacred Gija indigenous site - with a lot of atmosphere
Then our 40 minute helicopter flight over the whole National Park. A fantastic perspective of the geological landscape
Luke had a shaded walk for the afternoon. Echidna Chasm formed by conglomerate rock in the northern section of the rock platform
We finished the walk at Osmond Lookout
Huge conglomerate cliffs and boulders
Another brilliant sunset to complete the day
