SEPTEMBER 2016 : IRELAND : Lough Inagh, Connemara

Today we caught the 8.15am ferry from Inishbofin. A very calm crossing compared to reports from yesterday, when the ferry was cancelled due to hazardous conditions.

Arriving in Cleggan.

Driving through Connemara National Park.

We had lunch at the comfortable Lough Inagh Lodge.

Fabulous views of all the possible peaks to climb in the area. John and Maugie have climbed them all.

Entrance to the Lodge.

Refreshments in the lounge.

Up the road our B&B, Lough Inagh B&B.

Walk this afternoon in the sunshine.

Pastoral scenes

Enthusiastic team - delighted with the unexpected sunshine!

Walking up the local St Patrick's pilgrimage trail

A grotto near the church

The small chapel dedicated to St Patrick

Views to the coast

Descending the trail

Negotiating the cows on the return journey.

Beautiful walking day...delicious meal at the Lodge with Irish music ( whistle and accordion) and traditional (tap) dancing. We all had a go..
