SEPTEMBER 2016 : IRELAND : Castletownbere, Beara Peninsular - Galway - 4 hour drive

Leaving Castletownbere with no sign of a change in the weather. Rain and increasing fog.

Our friends, John and Maugie, collected us from our B&B, and we headed north with limited views to the Kerry Way where we walked two years ago.

The vibrant green countryside of County Kerry.

Driving through the colourful town of Kenmare.

Lunch at a pub in Abbeyfeale

John and Maugie checking out the menu.

         Quaint pubs and cottages

Large tourist town of Adare with thatched cottages and a thriving tourist trade.

Home in Galway to traditional Irish fare - cabbage, bacon and home- grown potatoes.

We have some interesting plans for walking and exploring Connemara, the Burren and Donegal in the next ten days. The weather forecast is not looking particularly favourable...
