JUNE 2022 : MELBOURNE : a family reunion

A wonderful opportunity to spend a weekend in Melbourne with family. My niece, Liz, and family were visiting from Alice Springs.
They rented a lovely Airbnb in Ascot Vale, perfect for their needs.

My sister, Ros thoroughly enjoying time with her grandchildren and my mum, her great-grandchildren.

Dinner and three nights in Abbotsford with my sister, Ros and Chris.

Lunch in a Degraves Street cafe

A twenty minute walk from Abbotsford to a great Spanish restaurant, Bouzy Rouge, in Richmond for dinner.

Sunday. Family get-together at Collingwood Children’s Farm.
Such fun!

Lunch in the grounds of the adjoining convent

Ally, my niece, has this classic poster on her wall in her inner-city apartment. Love the apartment and her choice of decor.

JUNE 2022 : SYDNEY : a family engagement party

Our nephew, Michael’s engagement party in Sydney.
Conveniently we could stay in Balmain with family, close to the venue and the city centre.
On arrival, Phil, my brother, took us on a walking tour of East Balmain harbour foreshore.
What a treat to see variety of architecture and creativity.

The engagement party, perfectly planned by the future bride, Ash, and was held at Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont.
Fabulously catered for and tastefully decorated and with a fascinating mix of guests.

The night included Macedonian dancing.

Lots of family enjoying the celebrations, particularly the rotating dance pedestal. Some were more creative than others.

We were able to catch up with other family too - cousins and grandchildren.

Despite the freezing weather, Mark and I braved the elements and took a ferry into the city (only 20 mins) to see Sydney’s 2022 Vivid light show. Thousands of families were out to support the event, which was certainly spectacular.

A great weekend!

JUNE 2022 : NSW COAST : A drive to Tilba Tilba

A chilly but clear day so we decided to spend the morning in Tilba Tilba, about an hour drive south from our coast house in Broulee. Tilba was established in the mid 1800s during the gold rush period. When the gold dwindled, the area was ideal for dairy farming and cheese making.
The township has been beautifully maintained and a popular tourist destination.
