It was wonderful being in Canberra’s Civic Centre and be part of the hustle and bustle of a Wednesday night. We saw the light rail in operation for the first time. It was only introduced in the last few weeks.
We had an early meal at a popular Vietnamese cafe, Nguyen, on Northbourne Avenue.
Smith’s Alternate Bookshop is next door, where an intimate concert was about to begin.
The first talented, and extremely young, sister duo, Charm of Finches. They played a range of stringed instruments and their music had a great Celtic feel.
Then the main act, another Aussie female folk group, The Maes. Vibrant, funny and original.
