Breakfast looking over the garden
at the hotel.
Vale Santiago and vale my faithful
boots! We weighed ourselves at a
Farmacia en route to the bus station.
I am exactly the same weight as I
was when I left Australia and Mark
has lost 11 kilos!!
Thank you to Susan, Brian's wife, for following
our blog and putting us in contact this morning
so that we could say goodbye!
What wonderful friendships we've made!
We caught an 11 am bus to Porto.
The highway was scenic with views of the coast
was lined with eucalpyt forests.
Our hotel is central and comfortable and was
originally an old movie theatre. The decor
reflects this.
Amazing seafood risotto (12 euros) and
delicious meat plate (5.25 euro) for lunch
First impressions of Porto
School students in caped uniforms.
Roasted chestnuts
Busy street scene
Several major plazas.
Contrasts of modern life but evidence of
better days with derelict buildings and graffiti.
Looking forward to investigating the various
facets of the city tomorrow.
