Sydney-Singapore - Milan- Barcelona
We are off again on another adventure. This time through the Mediterranean- four rocky islands to explore. Last year, while walking the French Stevenson Trail, a French walker recommended Menorca (to the north of Mallorca) as a beautiful destination and off the usual tourist route. We found a flat walk (for Mark’s knees) called the Cami de Cavalls (The Way of the Horses) which circumnavigates the island. We have organised this part of the trip with the UK company, Macs Adventure, who have organised hotels, breakfasts, luggage and drop offs and pick ups along the route. The weather forecast is for unsettled and possibly wet weather. Cooler for Mark.
First a day in Barcelona before we set sail on the overnight ferry to Mahon, the capital city of Menorca.
A relaxing day in Barcelona, including a seafood platter at the famous market, Mercado de la Boqueria.
We walked down to the port with the hordes of tourists enjoying all the activity on the water.
Our ferry terminal was only a few minutes away.
Just a few hours wait.. in the bar next door … rehydrating..
It became a long, involved waiting game with all the passengers being transferred to another ferry line and full check-in being duplicated.
The only consolation was that Trasmed were blasting us with their publicity which came down to the only was you could be happy, particularly if you are a dog, was ‘to be Trasmed’ so let’s see!
Lots of space to spread out. Clean amenities.
We tried the Pullman seats initially but found some long lounges nearby which proved much more comfortable.
9 hour trip
