OCTOBER 2019 : NORTH FREMANTLE : Babysitting

Two weeks’ babysitting in North Fremantle, staying in our son’s 1860s settler cottage on the Swan River.

Nick and Kristie are spending the school holidays in New York and the UK to celebrate Nick’s 40th birthday.

Our charges : Pippa (5), Harriet (4) and Mitchell (15 months) ...and Henri, their dog.

We spent most afternoons by the river, building sandcastles, collecting shells and looking for jellyfish.

We found a skate park, 20 minutes walk or scoot away. Liz, an English au pair, joined us every morning.

The attractive Freshwater Park playground near Mosman Park.

Pippa and Harrie gaining strength and confidence at the park on the local oval.

Not to be outdone by his sisters, Mitchell started walking.

A small playground at Cottesloe Beach, with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.

Only a few rainy, windy days. The kids love the indoor playground at Tropical Twist in O’Connor.

Strawberry smoothies at Garden City Mall.

Sushi Train at Claremont.

Favourite coffee and scooting destination, Orange Box Outdoor Cafe, at Leighton Beach.

Catching up with friends

Parties : One a Wiggles theme.

Lucy’s party by the river.

Harrie’s 4th birthday street party

Swimming lessons

King’s Park playground and a free fairy concert

Warm enough for first swim of the season in their pool

A very excited welcome home to Mum and Dad

Meanwhile on the east coast, Ashley and friends have taken their kids camping to Kiama, near Wollongong. Dakota (8), Koby (5) and Archer (22 months) are having a fabulous holiday.
