FEBRUARY 2022 : CANBERRA : Koby’s 8th birthday

Koby, our very active and athletic grandson, is 8 today. Sadly he had to cancel his party at a local skatepark as he and his family all have Covid and are in quarantine.
There was still a lot of excitement as we delivered breakfast, presents and a cake this morning and wished him ‘Happy Birthday’ through the front window.

FEBRUARY 2022 : CANBERRA. : Birthday celebrations

Due to the chaos of the Covid virus and the many restrictions, Ashley and her girls had to delay their special celebrations.
In the end it was a family weekend to mark the occasion of Ashley’s 40th, Dakota’s 10th and Indi’s 1st birthdays.

We began the weekend at the Canberra Arboretum for a play and coffee. As luck would have it - just because we organised all outdoor activities to be Covid safe - it was freezing with strong winds!  But we perservered!

We had walks around the lake, lunch on the terrace at the Museum, fish and chips at the yacht club in Yarralumla.
We had a special brunch for Nana’s 91st birthday on Sunday morning in our courtyard and a dinner at Belluci’s in Manuka.

The highlight was a cruise on three Goboats on the lake - just as the wind died down enough for it to be pleasant and not too choppy.

Lovely family reunion.
Looking more in the future with our total contingent!

JANUARY 2022 : SOUTH COAST NSW : BROULEE : Summer holidays

Another wonderful summer at the coast. Covid restrictions still applied in venues but otherwise a carefree time.

We enjoyed a full house - 8 kids for the week after Christmas - and lots of visitors, including niece Jane, Jon and Hawthorn out from the UK for the holidays.
A day trip to Canberra for the funeral of a loved aunt, Merle Rand - 96.

Special times with our Broulee regulars, particularly enjoying get togethers at the new Brewhouse.

We discovered a few new cafes - this one at the Oyster Shed on the Clyde River near Batemans Bay.

This quirky cafe on the lake in Narooma with the freshest seafood menu.

The weather was mixed, including a swell from the Tongan tsunami, but the water was great, perfect for our young family of surfers.

And now, it’s back to school..
