MARCH 2021 : CANBERRA FESTIVAL : Balloons

The last few days of the Canberra Festival. We couldn’t get tickets to the actual balloon arena so we joined many other Canberrans on the other side of the Lake at 6am to catch a glimpse of the balloons launching. It was 16o and mild but a thick fog was settling over the water.

Lots of families and groups of friends were setting up for the spectacular.

We could just make out the balloons on the other shore.

Muted colours emerging near the National Library

Then the fog descended again and all hope of seeing the various balloons disappeared. Walkers and cyclists continued on their lake circuit oblivious to what could have been.

Meanwhile the troops found other distractions...

Then pancakes at Bowen Park.

While Indi slept on...
